Montemaggiore Belsito is a small village surrounded by unspoiled nature. Known as La Porta delle Madonie, , its territory, where the Favara and Granza woods converge, is rich in holm oaks, oaks and Mediterranean scrub.
The village was born in the 12th century as a Saracen and then Byzantine farmhouse. In the seventeenth century it reached its maximum splendor, it was enriched with a monastery, a Benedictine convent and at least three churches.
