In the city of Scicli there is the famous police station of the television series "Il Commisario Montalbano".
The series, based on the novels of Andrea Camilleri, tells the story of Salvo Montalbano, police commissioner in the imaginary Sicilian town of Vigata. It is precisely the town hall of the city of Scicli that hosted, during the shooting, the police station of Vigata . There are many scenes shot in front of the town hall and along via Francesco Mormina Penna , the main street of Scicli, where Inspector Montalbano walks with his colleagues, leaves and arrives in his car.
The offices of Montalbano and his colleagues are located on the ground floor of the Town Hall, in the Art Nouveau rooms of the old conversation club. The office of the mayor of Vigata was instead set inside Palazzo Spadaro in Scicli , the place where the young Montalbano goes in the episode "Wounded in Death".
Another place present in several episodes of "Il Commissario Montalbano" is Piazza Busacca which with its splendid monuments also appears in the fictional theme song.
