Wheat Museum in Raddusa
The Wheat Museum in Raddusa preserves treasures from the now distant past of the Raddusana agricultural community.
The museum is housed in the rooms of an early twentieth century building that was once the headquarters of the La Cerere Agricultural Cooperative. em>. This cooperative was founded in 1910 by Knight Nicolò Di Gregorio and some laborers to ensure portions of land for farmers with fairer contracts and to raise awareness and apply innovative cultivation techniques. Due to the importance assumed by the cooperative in the development of local agriculture, the premises used by the cooperative are today home to the Raddusa Grain Museum.
The museum offers a reconstruction of the ancient environments with numerous work tools and ancient machinery used by the farmers . In particular, inside the museum an ancient farmhouse has been reconstructed with a bedroom dating back to the 1930s, a steam kitchen, a stone oven and a pantry. Inside the museum there is also an audio-visual path and explanatory panels.
