Feast of Saint Lucia in Polizzi Generosa
The feast of Saint Lucia is celebrated on 13 December. In Polizzi Generosa, the eve of the feast is characterized by a dinner based on "cuccia", a soup made with wheat, chickpeas and dried beans.
Day 13, during the celebration of religious liturgies, they are distributed among the faithful of biscuits with a singular eye shape, called "ucchiuzzi di Santa Lucia". The afternoon is dedicated to the solemn procession.
