Feast of San Biagio in Bronte
The Feast of San Biagio in Bronte takes place on February 3rd, the day of the liturgical anniversary. San Biagio, protector of the gorge, is the patron saint of Bronte and every year solemn celebrations are organized in his honor.
The triduum of preparation for the festival includes various religious moments including the blessing of the candles in the main square and a short procession of the Simulacrum of San Biagio up to the Mother Church.
On the day of the feast, the artistic vara with the Simulacrum of the Patron Saint kept in the small Church of San Sebastiano, adjacent to the Mother Church, is carried in procession through the city streets and during the celebrations Heuralistically the blessing of the throats is imparted to all the faithful.
