The feast of San Calogero in Sciacca is celebrated annually on the Tuesday after Pentecost. This day commemorates the miraculous help that San Calogero brought to the inhabitants of Sciacca in 1578, after a series of earthquakes.
The day before the festival, Monday, and the same day the Saccense citizenship as a sign of devotion to saint goes on pilgrimage from the city center to Mount San Calogero on foot, even barefoot, a pilgrimage of about 7-8 km, from the early hours of the morning. The solemn mass takes place on Tuesday evening, at the end of which the procession of the statue of the saint takes place. The pilgrimage follows which will end on Mount Kronio with the celebration of a last mass.
