Feast of San Giuseppe in Sant'Agata di Militello

Feast of San Giuseppe in Sant'Agata di Militello

The Feast of the Patron Saint San Giuseppe in Sant'Agata di Militello is celebrated in March, on the occasion of the liturgical anniversary, and in August when the patronal feast takes place.

The March 19, the day of the liturgical anniversary, the procession of the sculptural group of St. Joseph and the Child traditionally takes place through the streets of the village.

During the summer festival of St. Joseph, which traditionally takes place on the second Sunday of August, a long procession takes place that passes through the seafront of the town as San Giuseppe in Sant'Agata di Militello is invoked as the protector of fishermen and fish.
Every year on the occasion of the celebrations in honor of St. Joseph, the traditional Festival of seasoned bread and watermelon is organised, as well as various musical and entertainment shows
