Living Nativity in Monforte San Giorgio

The Living Crib of Monforte San Giorgio takes place in the splendid scenery of the Vetera district which constitutes the ancient area of the village. The visitor is accompanied on a sort of journey back in time until he finds himself walking in Bethlehem 2000 years ago. Along a guided tour, the events stated by the evangelists Luke and Matthew in their gospels are staged. The tourist then meets the places of the Roman census, the priests of the Sanhedrin in prayer for the imminent arrival of the Messiah, the bright market with bustling sellers, blacksmiths, carpenters, dancers, bakers, fortune tellers and the taverns of the Gallo D'oro and the Cavaliere Gray and those hotels that denied overnight accommodation to a carpenter with his pregnant bride.
