Onion Festival of Giarratana
The Onion Festival of Giarratana traditionally takes place on August 14th on the occasion of the celebrations in honor of the Patron Saint San Bartolomeo.
The Giarratana onion is a variety of onion, sweet and of considerable size, which is grown in the inside the Hyblaean plateau.
During the festival it is possible to taste traditional dishes based on the Giarratana onion, accompanied by typical cheeses and excellent wine.
Folk, cultural and entertainment shows are organized during the gastronomic event .
