Cheese Festival in Poggioreale
The Cheese Festival in Poggioreale celebrates the excellence of cheesemaking and the rural identity of this village.
The star of the event is the vastedda del Belice along with other local dairy products.
During the days of the festival, guided tastings of DOP cheeses, show-cooking, talks with producers and consortia, guided trekking, cultural and entertainment moments are organized.

15:30 Establishment of the ONAF Master Tasters Commission and evaluation of the competing Pecorino Siciliani DOP - at the registered office of the New Consortium for the Protection of Pecorino Siciliano DOP.
18:00 Workshop: “Agroecology, food education and the discovery of the territory to rewrite the future of the Belice Valley”.
“Taste Laboratory of the Belice Valley” - at the Cangialosi Council Chamber.

10:00 Seminar “Quality as an expression of the territory” - at the Teatro Comunale "Franco Franchi e Ciccio Ingrassia" - organized by the New Consortium for the Protection of Pecorino Siciliano DOP.
Award ceremony of the ONAF regional cheese competition and delivery of the XIII Edition “Trinacria d'Oro” Trophy to the best Pecorino Siciliano DOP.
ONAF ceremony to award the City of Poggioreale the title of City of Cheese, in the presence of local administrators and the Mayors of the Sicilian Cheese Cities.
13:00 "Piazza Elimo in Festa con leeccellenza del Belice" Table in the square and Talk-Show-Cook with the producers, the Protection Consortia, the Mayors of the Union of Municipalities Valle del Belice and tasting of Protein project products; music in the square.
18:00 "Taste Workshops of the Belice Valley" - ONAF guided tastings at the Teatro Comunale "Franco Franchi and Ciccio Ingrassia".
