Raviola and Totomè festival in Ravanusa

“Sagra della Raviola e del Totomè" - 1ª edizione

The Pro Loco Ravanusa in collaboration with the Municipality of Ravanusa, the Ministry of Culture and the Department of Tourism, Sport and Entertainment of the Sicilian Region, on the occasion of the 1st Ravanusa Historic Carnival. organizes this festival to celebrate two products that characterize the culinary production of the city of Ravanusa.

The "Raviola di Ravanusa" is a fried dessert stuffed with ricotta. However, it is a dessert widespread throughout the island and you can find different variations, some cooked in the oven. Totomè are sweet pancakes covered in hot honey or icing sugar. Both of these desserts belong to the peasant culinary tradition and were mainly prepared on carnival days.
