Santa Ninfa

State: TP - Area: Selinunte and Belice Valley

Santa Ninfa is a small village located in the Belice Valley.
It was founded in 1609 by Don Luigi Arias Giardina from Palermo who named it Santa Ninfa in honor of the venerable martyr, patron saint of Palermo at that time.
Santa Ninfa was seriously struck by the 1968 earthquake of the Belice Valley, which destroyed a large part of the town, but managed to safeguard and restore the historic center. The rest of the town was completely rebuilt with anti-seismic houses, ideally preserving the urban structure of the ancient town.
Of considerable interest is the nature that surrounds the small village.
