Cala Pulcino a Lampedusa
Cala Pulcino in Lampedusa , not far from the renowned Rabbit Island, is considered one of the most beautiful beaches on the island . It is located within a very picturesque gully and marks the western accessible limit of the island of Lampedusa. Continuing towards the west, in fact, only high cliffs overlooking the sea are encountered.
It is a beach of white sand mixed with pebbles smoothed by a transparent sea that reflects all shades of blue with tints up to emerald green. The seabed from the shoreline to the central part of the bay is made up of white sand, while a little further offshore, Posidonia, the lung of the Mediterranean, prevails. The cove is also surrounded by several caves and ravines that make the landscape even more suggestive.
It is possible to reach Cala Pulcino by sea or by land. In the latter case there are two paths that lead to the cove: a long path that starts from Casa Teresa, the oldest Dammuso of Lampedusa; and a second path that starts from the Isola dei Conigli.
