Path of Mills in Alcara Li Fusi
Torrente Stella - Alcara Li Fusi (ME)
The abundance of water in the center of Alcara Li Fusi has meant that, in the past, numerous water mills have sprung up along its streams.
Near the Torrente Stella , "stidda" for the inhabitants of the village, is the " via dei mulini ", where you can see numerous remains of water mills which testify to the flourishing agricultural tradition present in the town. One of these mills is still intact , even if it can only be viewed from the outside, and retains all the typical elements that allowed it to function in the last century for the production of flour.
This mill is located not far from the Abbot Fountain in a sheltered position with respect to the main road, surrounded by river reeds, green meadows, rocks, and orchards.
