Capo Milazzo
Capo Milazzo is the cape with which the Gulf of Milazzo ends to the west. The area encompasses a variety of landscapes within its perimeter, cliffs overlooking the sea, enchanting beaches and breathtaking sunsets.
At the end of the cape there is the Marine Reserve of the Promontory of Capo Milazzo. Inside the promontory there is the Fortified Citadel built in the Frederick era and expanded several times over the centuries. Located in the final part of the promontory, is the Sanctuary of Sant'Antonio da Padova, a real rock shelter. Nearby there is a military lighthouse, built in the 16th century and activated by the Civil Engineers in 1853 and made functional again in 2013.
There are numerous nature trails that wind around Capo Milazzo, the best known is the one that leads to the renowned Venus Pool, which overlooks the sea, in the heart of the Marine Protected Area. The path of the Lucifero Foundation on the west coast and “u nfennu e Paradisu” on the east coast, a path overlooking the sea, is also fascinating.
