What to see

In the territory of Petrosino we find several watchtowers which were erected to organize defense in the event of pirate incursions, including the 15th century Sibiliana Tower and the 17th century Montenero Tower.
In the hinterland there are instead they find the Tower Houses, which performed a defensive and, at the same time, residential function. They arise within areas used for cultivation and were often expanded with warehouses and stables. In Chiano Torreggiano and in Contrada Fiocca there are some examples of Tower Houses. The first bagli, a group of rural houses enclosed by walls, were subsequently created around the tower houses, and around them the chiani, nuclei inhabited by several families. Among the most important are the Baglio Woodhouse and the Baglio Spanò from the 19th century.
Along the coast you can find splendid beaches with fine sand like ridges of limestone rock. Famous are Torrazza beach, Biscione beach, Sibiliana beach, Capo Feto beach and Margi Milo beach.
