State: PA - Area: Palermo surroundings
Trappeto is a seaside village located on the coast in the Gulf of Castellammare.
It was founded in the 14th century close to the Partenia forest, an area used by Frederick II of Aragon for his hunting trips. At the beginning of the 1600s it was abandoned by its inhabitants, who returned here at the end of the 1700s to cultivate vines and olive trees. Thus the current town developed around the old Church of the Annunziata.
The splendid beaches, the houses attached to each other and embellished with murals, the small port make it an ideal destination for lovers of the sea and tranquility.
