Ficarazzi is a small village located on the outskirts of the Sicilian capital.
Its history begins under the barony of the Misilmeri, it was then the viceroy Pietro Speciale who gave prestige to this fiefdom through the cultivation of sugar cane plantations and the construction of the tower and the first rural settlement. Over the following centuries, the ownership of the fiefdom passed under various important families.
The symbol of the village and its history is today the elegant castle of Ficarazzi. Monuments and religious buildings enrich its historic centre, stately homes and bagli dot its territory.
