House Museum of traditional beekeeping in Sortino
The Sortino Traditional Apiculture House Museum, commonly called Casa do fascitraru, is a museum in which a faithful reconstruction of the rooms where the activity of the honey farm took place. The house shows, with guided tours, how the hives were built with ferula comunis, a porous and light wood, and all the operations necessary for the preparation of the honeycomb extraction.
The city of Sortino is in fact renowned for its honey : has a millenary beekeeping tradition.
