Church of San Sebastiano in Limina

The Church of San Sebastiano Martire in Limina, dedicated to the Patron Saint, is the Mother Church of the village.
The current building was opened for worship in 1935, and was erected in the same place where a ancient church dating back to the year 1000. The ancient church was demolished in 1908 given the poor state of the structure.
The simple gabled façade is characterized by the chromatic contrast between the pink of the plaster and the white of the stone used in the pilasters and in the portal. The façade is delimited laterally by two pairs of parastras with Corinthian capitals that support the entablature and a slightly overhanging tympanum. In the center there is the portal flanked by two small pilasters and surmounted by a tympanum.
The interior, with a single nave, has five marble altars.
Among the works kept in the church of particular value are: a statue of Saint Sebastian martyr with silver arrows from 1600; a red marble baptismal font; a marble statue of the Annunziata by Gagini, whose peculiar characteristic is the base representing the Annunciation of the Lord; a large wooden crucifix dating back to 16 August 1508 placed on the main altar; a canvas depicting the martyrdom of Saint Sebastian, a work by Alessandro Vasta dating back to the eighteenth century - a painting of Saint Anthony the Abbot by Alessandro Vasta dating back to 1700; a canvas depicting Saint Philip of Agira dating back to the eighteenth century; a canvas depicting the Madonna delle Preghiere dating back to the eighteenth century; a silver arm with the relic of Saint Sebastian placed in the main altar.
