Mongiuffi Melia consists of two small but suggestive villages joined by a bridge under which the Ghiòdaro river flows.
Its territory has been inhabited since ancient times: the Greeks, the Byzantines, the Arabs and the Romans passed through here.
The village is immersed in the splendid Valle del Ghiòdaro, one of the most important naturalistic treasures in Sicily, dominated by Monte Kalfa and full of plane trees, vineyards and centuries-old olive groves. The valley is a highly sought after place by lovers of motocross, mountain biking and trekking.
Valle Ghiòdaro is also a place rich in spirituality, it is known as the Valley of the Marian Sanctuaries as it houses three Sanctuaries dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary.
