The Sicilian variety almonds include a series of cultivars (agricultural varieties) native to the Sicilian territory. The almond is a typical agricultural product of Sicily, whose use in confectionery is a symbol of the island especially in the famous almond paste and almond milk.
Almonds are particularly rich in magnesium, calcium and iron and, if consumed in modest daily quantities, they help to lower bad cholesterol levels (total cholesterol and LDL).
