Sicilian pasta and chickpeas is an easy and tasty recipe. It is a poor dish originally prepared in the cold seasons in the families of laborers and workers for the low cost of dried chickpeas. The main ingredients of this dish, pasta and chickpeas, are the basis of several regional recipes from much of Italy. In Sicily, however, the use of some particular ingredients makes this dish unique and with a delicious taste. The main ingredients used in Sicilian chickpea pasta are chopped fennel, tomato puree and chilli pepper.
