Madonie Basilisk ricotta is a product of excellence from the Madonie area. It is obtained from basilisk leaves that are used as fodder for cows, sheep and goats, brought to pasture during the only month of flowering, between May and June. Basilisk gives milk unique aromas and indescribable scents. The milk produces such a delicious and rare ricotta that it must be reserved months and months in advance to be able to taste it.
